Soda ash is required for the manufacture of many products and plays a significant role in our living standards: Glass in any form and quality, soap, washing and cleaning agents, glues, adhesives and paper. Moreover, soda ash is used in many basic chemical processes.
Various application possibilities exist for the product of sodium bicarbonate. It is, among other things used in food products and in animal food industries, but also in the pharmaceutical industry and in numerous technical applications.
The NEUTREC® process is a dry process for purifying flue gas with the aid of sodium bicarbonate. Apart from these alkali products, the programme includes other products, for example: Precipitated calcium carbonate SOCAL® and BLANC FIXE, fillers for paints, varnishes, plastics and for paper finishing..

Important components of our range of products are Allyl chloride and Epichlorhydrin which are in great demand as end products. We also manufacture Di- and Polyglycerol especially for the cosmetics, pharmaceutical and food industries. Allyl chloride is the raw material for paint and polymer additives, silicones, water treatment products and drugs. Epichlorhydrin is an important basic material used in the manufacture of epoxy resins, paper additives, flocculants and flame retardants as well as drugs. Even Sodium hydroxide solution and Hydrochloric acid, which are used in a wide range of application areas, are included in our products.

Persalts are important bleaching components in modern laundry detergents. Hydrogen peroxide has made a name for itself as a clean and eco-friendly solution, not only in the bleaching of cellulose and paper, but also in waste water treatment and water purification.
At the Solvay plant in Bernburg a new plant was built for the manufacture of high-purity hydrogen peroxide. This product is a speciality for the electronics industry and is sold in appreciable quantities in the new federal states of Germany.
